About Us
2003 – The Tibbetts began tapping
The sugar grove at Raider’s Sugarhouse was established by Doug and Gail Tibbetts alongside their sons, Cameron and Glen. The trees were tapped and boiled in an old ice shack using a large pot on a propane turkey cooker; a labor of love from the start. Fast forward one decade, a few hundreds taps, and a beloved lab-husky mix named Raider… Raider’s Sugarhouse was born!
2012 – LaPierre & Sugarhouse Expansion
The original wood fired LaPierre evaporator kicked off production in 2012. As demand grew and the sugarhouse expanded, the LaPierre evaporator was upgraded to a D & G evaporator in 2017. The D & G evaporator offered increase efficiency and decreased boiling time with its steam hood and preheater.
